A few months ago, I said that you should know the city that you live in. So when I heard of the Dickens festival, I made plans to go there straight away. Last week, Ryah and I were finally able to enjoy the festivities.
For who don’t know, the Dickens festival (or Dickensfestijn in Dutch) is an annual event in Deventer where actors dressed up as characters from the stories of Charles Dickens roam the streets. With Deventer’s old buildings, the entire atmosphere was that of 1800s England.
In short, I enjoyed this event greatly, but I do feel I should do some research for next year, as I only recognized Jacob Marley. I’ll definitely go again next year.
Have some pictures, though.

Chim-chimeree, chim-chimeree, chim-chim-chiree!
We ate apple crumble. It was delicious. I should try making that myself.
